Awards night
With the festival only a week away it's probably about time we gave some details of the awards ceremony on the Saturday night. It's going to be lots of fun, I promise, with Amy Stephenson and Shane Langan from Diet of Worms hosting the event. They won't be doing it all alone as there'll be musical performances from Padraig Rushe, Grand Pocket Orchestra and The Hot Sprockets.
On the night there will be six awards handed out:
Best Directed
Best Shot
Best Cut
Best International
Best Video
and
The BrayMVF Rising Star Award
We won't be releasing details of the nominees before the ceremony itself so if you come along and you fancy your chances you might be joining the others on stage before the night is out.
So lots of entertainment and the excitement of the awards, and the best part, it's only 5 euro for the lot. So please do call and book your tickets for this special night as we'd hate anyone to miss out.
Thanks again for all your support and I hope to see you next week.

Heroes for Zeroes are a directing team who have worked with bands such as The Blizzards, Electric Eel Shock and Kaiser Chiefs. In this two hour workshop the guys will discuss things like teamwork, making your first video, seeking representation, treatments and how to get commissioned. The workshop will hopefully be a fascinating insight into what it's like working in the music video industry in Ireland and how to get yourself there.
You can get yourself a ticket by calling the Mermaid Box Office on +353 1 272 4030

Steve Barron Retrospective Announced
We decided to host a retrospective of a great Promo director’s body of work.
It was important for the first subject to be an Irish director, and what better director than the godfather of Irish promo directing.
Steve Barron can be credited with some of the videos that truly changed and pushed the industry.
